I hate these bloody things too. Slow and unresponsive.

It's an LG 405, like I said, free upgrade. You know how it works, you phone up, tell them to cancel your contract and they entice you with a free 'upgrade' and a cheaper package. I've never bought a phone yet.

I love the layout of it and the mp3 player bit but trying to type 'Go' and it coming out as 'hombre' is a little frustrating!

I can't really get excited enough about phones to either buy one or have an expensive contract (think less than a tenner), so an iphone is out. Plus when my ex tries to show off his it seems to be the size of a half paving slab and I'd sooner look at a laptop screen when I'm browsing online.

Like I said originally, it's just a grump! I'm of an age where I remember 2p phone boxes and can regale the kids for hours on how 'we never had these new-fangled phones when I were a lass'.

    Yeah, resistive screen lol.

Anyone who complains of a slow, unresponsive touch screen phone has simply got a crap one, that is all.

My OH got a samsung galaxy S2 the other day and it's so lovely. I'm using an Orange San Francisco (rebranded ZTE blade) and it's good after you root it. It shows the potential of the technology, even if it does have a few quirks being terribly underpowered.

If you use them to the full extent, with RSS feeds, various apps, they're great, and even if you don't, with resistive screens and a decent OS, they're far more fluid to use than a phone with directional buttons.

I feel your pain, though. My mum replaced her old phone with a Miami (I told her not to buy anything until I'd had a chance to advise her). The thing not only uses symbian, it requests you calibrate the screen with your stylus...the stylus that the phone doesn't come with. It really is an attrocious piece of poo.
  • I'm with everybody who hates touch screen phones, and other touch screen things. I had to sell mine (HTC 7 Mozart) and replace it with a Blackberry because it was causing me anger issues. Any touch screen phone i've used have just been more hassle than they're worth.

Yes they have some uses but for phoning,, texting and emailing and any general 'typing stuff in', just had me on the verge of biting it in half.
