Halifax easycash account i can't seem to close it?

Hi I can't seem to close my halifax easycash account i want it closed as i don't use it anymore i asked for it to be closed when i changed my ultimate reward current account to a current account and i phone them on the 19.11.11 and they said the will send a closure form out which they did and it arrived in about 3 days.

But here the issue i cocked the form up so i phone up the call centre again and the 2 advisor's i spoke to said they don't send account closure forms anymore you will have to write to head office stating you want your halifax easycash account to be closed and sign it.

Now i don't get this on the 19th of November when i phone to changed my ultimate reward current account to a normal current account why did they say they will send a form out and then 2 days latter 2 advisor's said they don't send closures form anymore.

A letter should be sufficient to close any account. Or you could go into a branch I assume

I could go into any branch but the closest Halifax branch is a haft an hour drive away and it closes at 5pm i don't get home from work until 4.30pm by the time i get there and find a parking space the branch will be closed

I went into a branch to close a guaranteed saver, and they said that I had to close it via. a letter. So if you're planning to go into a branch I would call first beforehand to make sure you can do it there.

Yes i did and i think they said the only way you can close your Halifax easy cash account is to write a letter and sign it and send it to head office in Leeds and by the way there's only one Halifax branch on the Isle of Wight i live in Shanklin and it isn a 30Min drive to the local Halifax branch in Newport.
