O2 Sim Swap problems

I purchased a new phone which arrived yesterday with an O2 sim card charged with £10 credit.
As I wanted to transfer my own O2 mobile number to the new phone My son filled in the sim swap form at O2 yesterday lunchtime. Gave a code which he typed in.
Information came through that the number would be tranferred by lunchtime today.
It wasn't!
Phoned at lunchtime and gave all details again, was advised to wait and it would be sorted.
Am still impatiently waiting for service to be transferred to new phone.
Does this seem an excessive amount of time to wait for the process to complete?
Am becoming anxious something has gone wrong.

Hello,
The phone networks usually ask you to wait 24 hours after the switch has been made for the process to become complete. It's similar to the process of swapping your number over to a different network.
I would give it until tomorrow evening and if nothing has happened explain that you've been waiting for a couple of days for your number to be swapped. You might get some free credit to say sorry out of it haha.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks rosiebee
Have just checked my old phone again and it's still not transferred!
I expected it to take a few hours and would be able to use the new phone. In this day and age everything is supposed to happen at the speed of light!
Although the guy on the customer helpline yawning throughout the call didn't inspire confidence!
Thanks though, I'll definitely take your advice.0
