New hp laptop - cmos error

Options
Can anyone shine a light on this please?
Just got a new hp pavilion g6 and when powering up I get "cmos reset 502". It refers you to the hp customer support but there's nothing there.

I'm wondering as its new does it use a rechargable cmos battery and thats causing the problem?
It's a xmas present, so want to make sure its ok before then.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers, mark

HP have a policy of ignoring any software changes, but they do get shirty if you mess with the hardware. However, they do give excellent support: as it is new, I advise you to contact HP support and they will talk you through it, either via internet or phone.

Off- topic, but maybe useful later - I bought a HP DV7 in July 2009. As soon as the warranty ran out, I formatted it, wiped all the HP stuff and used another Win 7 64 bit disc to reinstall windows, using the Win 7 code from the sticker on the laptop base. It runs much faster and I can install whatever I like on it without HP messages nagging me. As I say, HP warranties cover the hardware, not the software. That came from an HP engineer friend.

EDIT: Rosiebee's advice is spot on. Use the link and follow the screen advice.

    Thanks for that.
I'll see if that fixes it.
I usually get rid of what comes on it pretty much straight away and put my own stuff on as the factory stuff is always full of un-needed bloat.
