images not showing please help

can anyone please help i cannot view some images via email or on sites the image just shows as a box with a red cross in it
Can anyone please help I am getting so frustarated

Any advice gratefully accepted as I am a newvie when it comes to computers.

IE/tools/internet options/advanced/tick show images.

If you are using word as your email editor, there is a similar setting called show picture placeholders, untick it. (word/tools/options/view)

How do i find if i use word for my email editor?(told you I was a newbie)

Do you use outlook or outlook express for mail?

Do you have word (office) installed? .. if you do, the easiest way is to just try changing the setting, and see if it fixes the problem

It shows outlook as my email editor ( go onto internet through aol)and i had a trial of microsoft office which has expired
