Hi, my son is flying to costa rica from the uk and this involves a 10 hour stop over and transfer in the us, does he need a visa or an esta and if so what is the best way to get them ??

Through the ESTA website. I can't post links, but if you Google it, it will be the first one below the 'sponsored links'. Do not use the sponsored links, they'll charge extra.
