Buying from France Ebay how to translate?

Hello

I am wanting to buy a few things from France Ebay on a regular basis. Is there any gimmack or magic button that will translate french into english on the french Ebay site? I have tried google translate but it is not helping much.

Thank you for any help

Do you want to put it onto here and I, or someone else, will translate it for you and help compose your reply. Don't post anything that might identify you.

Sorry can't help as I am appallng with languages- but I don't think there is any automatic way of translating.

However if you are buying from a foreign site you will ened to have some usable phrases if only to ask whether they are happy to post to the UK and if so how much it will cost.

I think the OP is looking to change the default language as they intend to use the .fr sire regularly and this is not for a one off purchase
It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type

Yes, I think you're right - i misunderstood the question. Automated translation always gives a very rough translation usually good enough to understand the meaning but full of errors.

It needs a person who is a native speaker in the target language to do a decent translation.

There is also a Firefox addon you can download that will translate any text automatically
  • You could also set location on ebay uk to worldwide if that's any help, then you'd get the results from france on eBay uk

Twisted_Angel, We have bought and sold on Ebay.fr without problems having lived in France for a long time. If you have a specific problem PM me and I will try to help. French generally are not into Ebay as much as Brits, but there are still some scammers over there as I found out.
  • Install the google toolbar, this includes an automated translation tool. This always give a spot on translation of the page. I have never had an issue with the non UK Amazon sites.

Go to Google homepage and just click on the "More" tab and select translation.

    Simples.
