alternative to iphone
I was hoping to pick up an iphone 4 cheapish after launch of 4s, but prices are still quite high for the 4. I'm now thinking maybe it'd be better value to go with another smartphone - but what? HTC sensation / xe? nokia lumia? something else?
On my wishlist: a really good camera, gps, wifi, not huge. Thought the galaxy s2 feels a bit plastic? Also don't want a 24 month contract - ideally 12 or if necessary 18 months.
Anyone got some recommendations / found some great deals?
Thanks in advance!

Just picked up a Sony Ericsson Arc S, it is slightly smaller than the Galaxy S2 and is slightly plasticky. It's really nice to use though and the camera is meant to be better than many of the current smartphones.
Dialaphone have it in white on a decent 12 month deal with Vodafone at the moment. Though we opted to do the 24 month deal on O2 which after all the cashback and downgrading of the tariff effectively means the phone costs £152 over 2 years. If you were to buy it SIM free it's nearly £400. We just got a separate Talkmobile SIM which is £8 a month. So over a two year period that's less than £15 a month0 -
SGS2 its not plastic in my hands plus Gifgaff PAYG .

Oh will look at that. Could I ask what you mean by downgrading the tariff? Are you saying you don't have to pay the full tariff for 24 months?0

Samsung Galaxy S2 - Android 2.3 with upgrade to Android 4.0 soon.
If you want a smaller but powerful Android device, go for the Sony Ericsson Ray. It is an amazing device with battery life of over 2 days.0 -
The Samsung Galaxy S is great. I still have a preference for the iPhone, but the Galaxy gives it a good run for its money.
