    I've just had a look at their website & I can see a few porkies on their already for one..Smyths claim;
    Smyth's are Northern Ireland's only “Authorised Sky Homes Agent”.

    Not true,Finlay Communications have been Sky's main contractor over here for years,I know I worked for them..,and they do installs all over Ireland.

    If I were you'I'd call Finlays,they dont charge a call out fee.

    The engineer did mention that day that my dish was rusty and that this would effect the signal! So he would be replacing it. Not sure if this was necessary.

    Not unless the bracket at the back &/or the frontal face is rusted thru.I live facing the Irish Sea & my dish is rusty as heck,no problems with it.You could give it a spray of WD40 or a coat of paint to protect it if you can reach it,that won't affect the reception.

    Yes and its in the attic! Most of the houses around me have an aerial. That is why I thought it wouldn't be an issue. I also check the digital UK website and checked my postcode and the outcome was good using the Divis transmitter.

    Do they get a Freeview signal through their attic aerial? If they do, you should have no bother at all with yours, assuming it's a good quality aerial too.

    You should also get reception. paying £120+ extra per annum to Sky (multiroom) doesn't make economic sense

    You already pay for Freeview thru ur TV licence
  • An update from my call to Smyths earlier. I had asked for them to send me the engineers report. They rang and are giving me the refund after all as the report was inconclusive!!! Pulling a fast one I think

    Great result. Happy Days. I suspect there was no phone call recorded or engineer report.
  • The line about the dish being rusty sounds to me a bit like something I saw a while back on "Rogue Traders"!
