in Credit cards
Hi, not sure if this is a silly question.
I want to improve my credit rating. I'm on the edge of being debt free, and have just got a credit card which I just intend to buy one thing a month and then pay off.
My question is, if I buy something, say, today, does it make any difference if I pay it off tomorrow, or at the end of the month before interest is added.
I know to improve my credit rating I need those 0's, those 'Ive paid back within the correct time' marks on my report each month to show I'm reliable.
Thanks

Hi
You need to leave the payment until after the next statement has been generated for it to count towards building your credit history. And then pay in full between the statement date and due date. If you pay the day after you buy something it won't show on your credit file as you'll have a nil balance on the statement date.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
