50/50 on third party insurance means no pay out your end does it not?0

On the brighter side, if it was a 50/50 liability then the other side will pay for 50% of the recovery & storage charges.
.
No that may not be the case. We don't know what the other side's costs are do we? Maybe they had a nice new shiny car that is costing £££'s to repair so in addition to the recovery and storage costs, the OP might have to contribute to the other side's costs. I don't see how you can avoid using your insurance mate unless you are well loaded.0 -

Doesn’t matter what the damage to the other party’s car is, any liability for that damage will be covered OP's wife's DOC insurance so still no requirement for the OP’s insurance to get involved0 -

Nope, as above, 50/50 means the wife’s DOC cover will pay 50% of the costs of the third party and the third party insurance will pay 50% of the OP’s costs, basically as in posts 3 & 60 -
I would get them paid pronto.
They were instructed by the police to remove the vehicle and you are legalle liable for those charges.
Why did you wait five days? (and counting)0
