Capital one increasing limits

Options
About 2 weeks ago i recieved a letter from capital one saying they where expanding my credit limit over £500 than it currently was - they havent done this for 2 years.

What i wanted to know was - has anyone else also had this letter? is it unique to maybe an improvement in my credit circumstances OR is it a generic thing capital one have cashed in on the fact its Christmas?

If its the first i may try and get a balance transfer and get away from this ghastly 34.9% APR rate card!

I've had mine for absolutely ages, and no increase for me. Still at the 'minimum' for the card.

Same, 2 years and still £200 limit.
  • I have a capital one cc and within the first few months the limit went up and up and up and it has sat at £1000 since.
i tried applying for one of there other cards and was refused so i phoned them up and asked to be transferred to a English call centre due to bad connection i was not able to clearly hear the person who answered my call.

I got someone who was English and a better line and they explained it is because i have a previous card with them that was cheaper interest and it would be crazy to transfer everything over to the new card as my minimum monthly re payments would be a hell of a lot more expensive.
i checked about my current limit at £1000 why it was increased to that within 3 months and was told because capital one had money available to give to customers. but currently we do not due to the credit crisis and who gets a credit increase is all down to random picking.
