Capital one increasing rates

About 2 weeks ago i recieved a letter from capital one saying they where expanding my credit limit over £500 than it currently was - they havent done this for 2 years.
What i wanted to know was - has anyone else also had this letter? is it unique to maybe an improvement in my credit circumstances OR is it a generic thing capital one have cashed in on the fact its Christmas?
If its the first i may try and get a balance transfer and get away from this ghastly 34.9% APR rate card!

Could be both or either. But they will believe it's not going to cause you to get into trouble, so preumably you've been handling your account with them ok.0
