If you have an 1st Gen iPod Nano, then you can send it to Apple and receive a new current gen (i think 6th gen) as a replacement for free!
This is due to a battery issue with the 1st gen iPod nano, so they are recalling all the old iPods.

Thank you for this. My little old nano is still going strong (no overheating battery) but a new one for free is not a bad deal at all - especially since it's 5 years out of warranty!

you dont get a new one, you get a replacement 1st gen one
