Had been VERY strict with myself this month and had enough to pay off the vet debt WOOHOOHOO :j:j:j

That's the first debt gone ( can anyone tell me how I put a line thru it and chance the font colour - want to update signature)
    Date restarted DFW 30/04/16
    Money owed :-
    Vet £700
DMP too much ( need to find out how much )
    That's it

Assuming it's ok, my total debt from the beginning of 2012 was £3566. So far I've paid off £747 leaving me with a balance of £2819 to clear.

(Un)fortunately  we're about to buy our own place (assuming all goes well in the next couple of weeks). While this is great I'm having to borrow £8k from my dad to cover my half of the deposit and legal costs. So as soon as I've cleared one debt, I'll be moving on to the next AND contributing to home improvements. At least the mortgage is cheaper than our rent and dad will be interest free!

If it's ok, I'll ask to add the debt to my dad to my outstanding balance if/when I actually borrow it.

    Thanks :)

Well done! To put a line through text when editing your signature, highlight the text you want to strike through and use the icon top right of the text box. (It has an S with a line through it, next to the hash symbol).

To change the colour, keep the text highlighted but this time click the drop down arrow next to the A icon (between sizes and the smilies face) that will give you a selection of colours to choose from. (Obviously if you want to change the colour of different text you need to highlight that instead and then choose the colour you want to change it to).

    Hope that helps :)

  • morning everyone,

    Please can I join you??

I was doing the Olympic challenge until I added my debts up properly and put eveything down (included 2 car debts and family loan)

This increased my debts substantially and I'm am now at (according to my trusty spreadsheet) @ £24,313 :o which has made July a completely unrealistic challenge But I hope to get as much as possible paid off this year.

The 2 cars are on finance so the actual settlement figures will b less than the figure i've added to my total but its the least of my worries for now!
Still here..... but working on that!

Jwil, please can you change my target and new paid off of course:) I'm now £938.78/£568.54. Which in a way means I haven't got anywhere but I have used my share cheque and a bit of balance transfers to pay off my overdraft so I won't be paying Santander for the priviledge after next month:j This also hopefully means I will keep out of it from now on and actually feel like the debts going down. I do however have two trips coming up in the next couple of weeks and a trip to India in April but I'm hoping they won't do too much damage...

On the plus side, just been told I'm getting a refund plus interest on a gap policy when i brought my car so this will help soften the blow once it arrives.

That's no problem seasideDreamer, good news about the refund too :j

Welcome to the challenge littleskintdragon :) Good luck with the debt busting, at least when you settle your loans you'll knock a good bit off the total.

Whoo hoo - we are in the headlines :D - well done everyone!

Hellooo and welcome to new friends, good news on vets bill being paid Dane - I have another one on the way for another course of antibiotics and the manuka honey :o

My car is also currently off the road as I hit a pot hole (cant believe I didnt see it - its a gaping hole) and not only ripped the tyre but damaged the rim. Fortunately OH is sorting it as I was ferrying his DS2 around at the time :o

I am hoping to make another overpayment just before month end.

How is the arm now Jacci? And I see you are down into the £15K's now - well done. :D

    Happy hump day everyone :D:D
