Hey folks. How's september going? Really slow for me as we have a big private medical bill to pay and also I am putting more money into maternity leave fund. But DH has just done two gigs, money should be in by end of next week which will go to the Virgin card. THe 0% runs out next month so I hope to clear it by then. DH has got another credit card of his own but I am not keen to take that on - it was his overdraft and the deal was that he pay it off to get some appreciation of just how long 3 grand takes to pay off if you don't really throw money at it - he's been going 2 years and he STILL has £1500 on it! Was really cross with him as he told me that he'd been paying off £100 a month but I checked his DD and it's only £75. Forced him to double it to £150 as we will be relying on his salary when the baby comes and I don't want any old debts hanging around sucking money in. Grrr to un-lightbulbed husbands! He's much better than he used to be but he has such a long way to go - his ability to see the big picture is really limited.

I should add that he earns 10k more than me and yet I manage to pay at least £200 a month towards our debts!

  • Hi everyone

I hope you're all well. Im sorry I haven't been on for absolutely ages, all is ok, but I've been away for a while and just haven't kept up with my internet jobbies!

I have continued to pay off my bills, my starting amount at the beginning of the year was 4,400. I'm not on target because the total currently stands at 3,000 but I have been on maternity leave and on a low income for the past nine months, so alhough I was quite optimistic initially this balance is better than nothing. One good thing out of this though was that one of the cards I was paying off had a huge % interest and I just wasn't clearing any balance, so my dad kindly got a loan which a low % interest and we paid off most of the card and now I pay a flat 100 per month, but the outstandig balance isn't rising anymore.

Well, I have got over 100 pages to catch up on now, I'll probably have square eyes soon enough.

Hope to catch up with you all soon
