Put lots of things on ebay at the weekend so am hoping for a nice cash crop to lob at the virgin card.

Have also started an ISA to save money for maternity leave. Hoping I can get about 3k in there which should see us through a good few months, when combined with DH salary. Frugal grocery shopping though!

  • Hi All and well done on all the payments / reductions :T:T:T

Thought i'd pop in and say i am still plodding on but can't update any money - possibly all month really

This month i have: - insurance to pay for, car tax to pay for, an important birthday meal out (budgeting £100 for taxi, meal, drinks and gift - it sounds alot but given the restaurant i'm going to try and get by with just 1 or 2 drinks :o) I'm off on holidays again too so need spending money sorting for that AND THEN we're also going out with old friends for a meal - i don't want to cancel as we only see each other once or twice a year. Needless to say i've nothing budgetted for the insurance and tax (just haven't been able to with trying to get the debt paid off :o). I haven't enough money to cover all these things so hoping bay of e will help - plus if i get any birthday money *fingers crossed* so at the mo. i'm trying not to increase the debt :o

I used to pay for insurance monthly but switching that to being paid off in 1 go so that i've less coming out of my account each month in future and i'm not paying extra for spreading the cost too. Really hope i can get some paid off this month - we will see x

PPI Party Pooper Debt-free and Proud!
I have managed another small overpayment to the loan but also got added charges :o but I am going to continue plugging away. I was told not long ago by the bank once I got under £14k they would drop the interest rate - now when I called they say they are no longer refinancing loans just to get a better interest rate!! I can consolidate other debt (which I dont have) or increase the loan (which I dont want) but then it will take me back over the £14k!!

So I am trying to remain positive and just keep chipping away at it. Gosh I cannot wait till its gone!

anyways new balance at the moment is :
