got argos statement to-day and it was £23 .35 in credit usally have run big credit on this at this time of year:)

Well done! My reason for posting today is i have just recieved 2x £5 vouchers from McCains and i really don't know why. Not that i'm complaining mind! :rotfl: Also well done on the Argos credit. This is the 1st year that i have bought and paid of everything up front for christmas. Its an amazing acheivement since i'm still paying off last years (hangs head in shame) but god it feels good doesn't it! :o

Just received £10 waterstones voucher in post. I'm really impressed with Shop & Scan as I only ordered this on Monday! So pleased it arrived before seeing my niece on 27th.

I've noticed that people have been adding Christmas money from relatives to their total, well so far I have received £20 so I will add that.

I am waiting until 31st December to submit my final total, am desperate for anything I can get to meet target.

  • Hiya everyone

Aesop - just wanted to let you know my final update will be 29th or 30th - i'm getting paid some part time wages then and only want to add it once i've got it in :)

Got paid some money back i'm owed again today :D I always add this as it gets paid back to me in drips and drabs and i never know what i'm getting and in fact never expected anything until just a few months ago when the person asked if it was ok to pay me back this way as they were having a really difficult time getting the money together as a lump sum. So £22 added today.

If i don't 'see' you before have a lovely Chrimbo everyone :xmassmile

  • Awww, the last page of this thread is sentimental and lovely!

Such a warm fuzzy feeling from reading all the sucesses.

I myself am feeling very smug this crimbo, thanks to this thread and forum, my cupboards are bulging with food, freezer is full and fridge is decent, i have saved loads of money in the last 5 months, for the first time in ages, i will have money in my savings account and money in my current account at the stroke of midnight, i have money owed to me ready for Jan payment, i have plans for next year and am in a happy position about life, i am eating really well, i'm not broke, i choose NOT to spend money sometimes because i don't want to waste it, instead of because i really can't afford it, i'm not saying i'm rich and can buy a house, far from it, but i have money aside from my wages coming in regularly and this makes me really happy and feel secure about the possiblities in m future.

Thanks to this thread for the motivation, When i see people smashing their targets, i don't feel jealous, i genuinely feel happy for them and it spurs me on to earn more and to be able to smash my target quickly! so thanks guys and Aesop, you really are a star, all your advice and help to the newbies and others and your words of encouragement.

Remember guys, still 8 More earning days left for the year, breaks allowed for crimbo, lol

Couldn't have put it better myself! And infact, with a few tweaks, I could've written this! Unfortunately, I dont have any money in my savings account, and only have the bare minimum in my bank account, but despite the worst year of my life in terms of finance, I am facing christmas safe in the knowledge that its all bought and paid for without a credit card in sight. Makes you wonder what the hell I was playing at in previous years !

Just £3 to add to my total today. MIL asked me to buy a gift for someone from her and gave me £15. I got it for £12 with my staff discount but she didnt want her change:D It all helps Xx

  • I've got another £100 to add to mine, given 'carers' allowance from my MIL. :D

Will update my signature with total now. Anything else i'll leave til next month if I remember to add it. :rotfl: Oh and i'm about 100 swag bucks from hitting a voucher in about a week. :D
