I've had a student account for 4 years already and about to do another course

Options
Hi All,,

I've had a student account for 4 years already and about to do another course (3 years) - do you think that the banks will extend the interest free overdraft (i mean in time rather than increasing the amount of o/d available) to cover that or will i have to reapply? Anyone managed to get it for duration of 2 degrees?

I'm going to check with the bank but just want to see if it has been done by anyone else's bank.

Cheers

EJ

I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem - you are still a student afterall.

HSBC gave me a student bank account for my masters, although that was only the one year...

Just go in with your student card - I've had a student account since 1999 (with a year off at one point) with natwest. I still have my lovely big interest free overdaft (although at the moment, thankfully it's not being used!).

Hi EJ, I've had my Barclays student account since 1997 too (still at Uni :( ). They occassionally ask me to prove I'm still a student, but a letter from college is fine and they just extend my status. They may send you a letter congratulating you on graduation, but just ring them up and tell them your carying on. Last time I did this, they'd already changed me to a graduate account and when they put me back to a student account, I got all the freebies again!
