Hi Everyone,
I need to get a DAB radio as a Christmas present but they are sooo expensive. I've been watching USED ones by Pure sell on ebay for £60 - £70 and thats with no box, a major scratch in the top and sometime a knob missing!
A few sellers have ex display ones for £20 that were apparently ex display ones from ASDA. They're listed on the ASDA site as £37 (but are listed as out of stock) and just wondered if anyone had bought a cheaper one not made by Pure and can tell me if they are any good?
Really dont want to go much above £30 if poss for a new one but at the same time I dont want to waste money on one that barely works and end up giving a useless gift. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

I have 2 of these, one in pink and a black one I gave to my boyfriend for his birthday. They work really well.
I paid around £35 in September for the black one, I got it from Dixons when they were on offer (not anymore!). You can probably find it cheaper.0 -

I have a nice red Bush dab from argos. Just looked but they don't sell the one I have. I use mine in the kitchen, it does the job

Hello,
Found this for you. Have a look: http://www.dabradioreviews.org/top-5-cheap-dab-radios
Hope this helps0 -
Don't waste time on DAB until they update it to something which is usable with more modern codecs such as AAC. The Quality with the bitrates being used is horrible, you are better off listening to FM.
Or use internet streaming radio stations or Radio stations on Satellite or Freeview.0 -
Found no problem with dab I have three. One Pure radio/alarm/daylight light, M&S with internet radio and cheapest of them all Lowry dab radio Morrisons around £25 listen to it in garage/bathroom. I found sound perfectly acceptable the pure being best of all0

Only if you are in an area with good FM reception to begin with A lot of us, esp those who don't live in towns don't get it.
Where I am, DAB knocks spots off of all FM reception for all but a few mainly local stations that use the lowest bitrates - Oh and not every room in my house has a TV or a PC handy and I don't always want to take a laptop to listen to streaming stuff. Esp when dozing-off at night!0 -
If anyone is still looking, I found this Pure One DAB radio, £19.99
