Car Insurance nonsence

Yes you do have to declare it, but the point was made here about the on costs for the insurance company in dealing with a no fault claim and how that can be reflected in your future premiums. By dealing with the third party insurer direct, those on costs are removed from your own insurance company and therefore they cannot use this as their reasoning for putting up your premiums.0 -
I have just received my insurance renewal notice and the premium has risen by £80.05 from last year. I phoned a representative of my current insurer to ascertain why that had been such a steep rise.
Forget the accident, the above sums up my experience.
I have not yet received a renewal quote that has not increased even though the car is worth less and I have not had an accident. Which is why its worth ringing round on freephone numbers just before renewal to hammer the quote down.
Your experience is typical and standard practice. Even if you have had an accident or like me had points on your licence. My old company wanted to load me £80 for 3 points. I eventualy got a quote £35 cheaper than the previous year.
So the answer is move to an insurer who will quote less than the previous year.0
