write off credit cards

Options
Has anyone heard of a company called Highbridge Investments LP Inc based in Guernsey? I received a cold telephone call from them asking if I had credit cards issued pre 2007. They said they can take the card debt off me and I will then have no debt and nothing to pay! Sounds fishy to me.
Also discovered they have links with Nortstar Capital Consultants in Bolton.

Never heard of that particular firm - but there are hundreds of dodgy claim companies around cold calling people and trying to get them to part with hundreds of pounds. Steer clear.

Its impossible to get your debts written off.

They will ask you for a fee.

    You will pay it.

    They will then fail.

You won't get your fee back.

    The end.

I think you should do it. I think you should pay them money to "have all your debts written off".

Why don't you just pay your bloody cards back, instead of trying to get them written off. You spent the money, pay it back, I'm fed up of idiots like you trying to get something for nothing.

ITS THE PEOPLE WHO PAY THEIR CARDS BACK WHO END UP PAYING EXTRA FOR FOOLS LIKE YOU.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Absolutely.

They will also secure you several thousand pounds in compensation and a genuine 40ct gold bar stamped with "Mug" on it :)

Is it only people with credit card debt that receive these calls?
If so, I wonder how they know?
I wish they would phone me - I'm intrigued to know how they try to sell this. The only way I can think of is by lying through their back teeth.

The other call I've never had, but long to, is the "your computer has a virus" one. I can't wait to start stringing them along - it would make my day :-)
  • Ooooh, I've had that one from a lovely Indian man but he didn't stick around for a conversation after hearing my initial response! :D
