Hi does anyone have any ideas on how to fix a filter for a Cookworks kettle. I have the little plastic part filter has split and can't seem to buy a spare.
Was wondering if there is a safe waterproof steam proof adhesive. If so i could Stick some muslin to plastic bit to substitute for damaged scaled up filter material.
Any ideas welcome folks.

I know it's not very MSE but a new Cookworks kettle can now be had in Argos for less than a tenner....

The filter in my last kettle just shattered one day, I didn't realise until I almost poured boiling water all over my hand when I was making a cup of tea!
There's not much you can do to replace/repair them to be honest so you'll probably have to bite the bullet and get a new one."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Mine broke ages ago and I just use the kettle without, doesn't seem to make any difference. If you don't want to do that just put a tea strainer over your cup when you pour the water in.0

You can't repair it yourself, as the fabric you mentioned wouldn't stand up to being permanently wet/damp and would rot - not to mention the filters are tiny, and it would be a very fiddly job. I think it's because the kettles are quite inexpensive they don't bother making spare parts, and also as mentioned they still work without it (the fabric in my old kettle split so I chucked it).
Do you use one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cadnit-KP000010-CADNIT-CM5540KETTLE-COLLECTOR/dp/B001F5SRMW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1322506867&sr=8-2 it will help cut down the amount of scale in your kettle, or as mentioned you can use filtered water in your kettle.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
throw the filter away and put some marbles in the kettle.
they do the same job.
those steel mesh balls do the same too.Get some gorm.0 -

Using a tea strainer - don't think all that limescale can be good for you - probably gives you kidney stonesFlying Donkeys- Do no harm to others and you will benefit in more ways than one.0
