Raven, you are right, she is a tad pampered! Normally i get her a whiskas stocking, but this year i bought her this massive play/climbing/scratch post thing and some other toys, in the hopes that she'll stop scratching my sofa and washing basket!0

Tink I would sort this out asap hun, thats an awful worry having to find that amount of money each year, it must take you forever deciding what to buy too
My SIL likes to buy for everyone so this year her family have a limit of £10 per person and they have to get as many gifts as they can with it, thought that was good idea and should provide some laughs.
As its late I think aim for damage control this year and cut the amount you spend on each, check out the cheap shops and the Christmas board has homemade gift ideas and hampers. It's a tough financially for a lot of people and you may find some of his family support you if you make a stand.0 -

I have 4 parents, 6 siblings who will be £15 each, a nephew who will be more like £30 and my sister's finance and his two children will be £10 each. I do feel a bit mean on the future-step-niece and future-step-nephew, but I've only met them twice. That makes my total £210, but I have saved £300 this year, so there is some leeway if I find something really nice for a bit more and for wrapping paper.:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. Wow - loads of responses to this!! :j
OK so I posted this yesterday before DH knew about my debt..... he is a little worried about Xmas but I think he now realises that I wont be spending that much on his family..... and to be honest I dont see why we should anyway.... I know £40-£60 isn't a lot to some people but when you're spending that on over 20 people it is a hell of a lot! Plus there's food, drink and entertaining to be paid for.
I dont know why but it seems like we spend mega amounts on food for Xmas - then have loads left until June the following year :rotfl:
