the advice so far has been ok. But go see a specialist.
imodium although cheaper in india (remember is it genuine, safe) is pretty cheap in the uk £1 for 6 tablets, and remember its best to know the name to buy further supplies

on the lloyds pharmacy website versus NHS
*Combined tetanus, diphtheria and polio - £34.50. GENERALLY FREE NHS
*Combined hepatitis A and typhoid - £71.50. GENERALLY FREE NHS
Hepatitis A - £49.50. GENERALLY FREE NHS
Hepatitis B course of three injections - £118.50. FEE on NHS
Meningococcal meningitis - £49.75. ?Not sure?
Typhoid - £29.50. GENERALLY FREE NHS
* bare minimum

optional ones are rabies / japanese enchipalatis / Hep B
these cost over £100 each and maybe a little over cautious
stray dogs seem to keep to themselves, and were not roaming/barking in wildpacks.
the jap enc has claimed many lives recently but no tourists

it depends what your plans are, beach versus jungle.

also check out malarial hoptspots and look on a map were you will be
I just did delhi to kathmandu and only needed malaria tablets for chitwan NP in nepal

what ever you do, do not drink tap water,
alway (purify your own!! or more likely) drink bottled water that has an intact seal.
if the seal is broken swap it for a new one or throw it
