Thanks for the reply. I imagine you're probably right and my situation means I was always going to get my stdent card (I'm a home owner, with halifax for close to 10 years, pay in a lot etc). The Powergen Gas thing isn't something I'm amazingly worried about becuse it was paid of as son as I became aware of it so I would hope the affect wouldn't be too bad anyway.
Plus it will probably be 5 years before i look to get any real credit, so I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I'll give it a few months of spending on my card and get my reports then. The only reason I got the card was to begin building proper credit, which I'll pay off in full every month.
Thanks again.0 -
Fitzy-,
I would suggest you ask Powergen if this problem will be reflected at the bureaux. I believe you can email them from your acct. They should know the answer, which would save you getting your report(s) perhaps (and the assoc.costs).Friendly greeting!0 -
I got a credit report from annualcreditreport.co.uk and basically says I don't have a rating. The powergen missed payment isn't mentioned, and the only things that even show up are my Two bank accounts both of which look fine.
I've had a contract phone for close to a year now though - isn't that meant to show up? Or does it only "count" when the contract is finised?0 -
I don't use credit cards that way I save more money. I pay with cash and debit only0

Again, I suggest you contact Powergen about the missed payment, which may not be reflected at the bureau straight away anyway (see my prev. response).Friendly greeting!0 -

I've recently had a look at my credit rating and have noticed the following on my credit report
As I have settled the account is there anyway I can have this removed from my report? Does it affect my score having it there?

Hia Cymru Boyo,
Its only 1 small missed payment. In the grand scheme of things its not going to make a difference. However, if its an error and you made payments all the time on time then contact Experian. There is a mailto: link. Just click it and send then an email. They will query the info with the parties concerned and take it away.
Its worth querying it even if you did accidentally make the iffy payment. Sometimes they will do it just because overall your account conduct was very good.
By the way its only when you start to see lots of yellow or a red that you can begin worrying..... Your fine at the moment though!0 -
I have been reviewing my credit history and have nticed that a default has appeared from nowhere. I have had no warning of this in the past and I was amazed to see this. It appears that when I paid off a store card I was given an incorrect settlement figure and this is what has caused it. I have no problem paying it off but I am cooncerned about this being on my account, what should I do? and will this be wiped from my records once the payment is through?0
