Asda overcharge policy

I visited Asda last week and was overcharged on 2 different items. I went to customer services and was refunded the difference. As far as I understood, (and from what others have been told), Asda's policy is to refund the difference and to compensate with a £2 gift card for each overcharge.
When I asked at customer services about a the gift cards, I was told by the assistant that this only applied if I had left the store.
When I got home, I e-mailed Asda CS asking them to confirm their policy with regard to overcharging. I received a reply which stated;
"Our policy when you have been overcharged on an item, we will refund the difference and also offer a £2 gift card for your inconvenience. Once you have paid for your shopping and your transaction has gone through if you noticed you have been overcharged you are able to get a refund of the difference plus a £2 gift card for each different item you have been overcharged."
Basically, you don't have to leave the store to be eligible for the gift cards. (The e-mail went on to say that they'd post the giftcards to me):)
So, not wishing to hijack anyone else's thread, I just wanted to let everyone know exactly what the policy is, so no-one gets fobbed off by CS staff in store. If they try, keep pushing!

Does that rule also apply to reduced to clear items for which you have mistakenly been charged the full price? It happened to me once in Asda and they only refunded the difference.0

TBH, I don't know, but one of the items I was overcharged on was a "Whoopsie" (as we call them in our house:)) - it's still an overcharge, they refunded the difference, so I assume that the rule applies. It's a shame they can't seem to get each store singing off the same hymn sheet!0 -

Well, I've not yet received a gift card (and a postal order I was expecting the same day went missing too) - so I've e-mailed them asking if they'll supply details. I'll let you know if I ever get anything!:)0

Well I have been over charged several times by asda and have had go and get it sorted at the CS desk and no offer of compensation. Once I was charged £3 more for nappies. And another I was charged their 'regular price' of £3.47 per kilo for red grapes when there was a huge sign that said they were £2 a kilo. I tried to tell the cashier at the time it was wrong but she just wanted me to leave. She was rude and unhelpful. The CS lady sorted it out but I am angry about the fact the cashier wouldn't listen to me. She just said " well that is what the computer says it is." silly moo!! I think acutally I am tempted to write to asda to tell them. I have been overcharged more than that as well. I am seriously thinking of changing my stores now just spending the petrol money to go elsewhere.0

Good morning,
Last night I did my weekly shop at Asdas as was overcharged on the following items....
3 x 75cl bottle Echo Falls Zindafel - shelf edge label £4.50-charged at the till £5.75
2 x packets Schwartz mediterranean roasted vegetable mix-shelf edge label 0.70p-charged at the till 0.88p.
A total overcharge of £4.11.
I never noticed this until I got home and was checking my receipt for the APG when I spotted it.
Does anybody know what Asdas overcharge policy, currently, is as I had left the store and won't be going back until this morning.
With many thanks.0
