Who's insurance policy? Car accident advice

Hello,
Firstly I would like to apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place as I am new to moneysavingexpert!
Last week my boyfriend drove my car to get its MOT done, as he works near the garage. When he got to the car park, there were no spaces so he pulled up next to another car. He went to get out the vehicle and as he did a lorry started reversing (which was approximatley 15ft away) so he put the key back in the ignition and beeped the horn as he could not start the engine to move the car out of the way in time. The lorry driver reversed into my stationary car and cased considerable damage.
The lorry driver denied it was his fault on the scene, however since the other party have admitted liability simply by saying they reversed into the vehicle. However, the question I am unsure of is whos insurance policy should I have claimed under? No one was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. I have fully comp cover and my boyfriend has 3rd party to drive another vehicle with the owners permission.. We are both with the same insurance company, who I explained all of this too and I am not actually sure who's policy they have put it under. I am sure they said my boyfriends, however I am being offered a courtesy car when mine goes in for repair which I do not believe is offered with 3rd party.
Also do I lose my no claims? From what I have read, as this is not my fault I do not, however as the claim can take weeks to sort, will it cause me problems when renewing my insurance in January?
Thank you in advance!

If the other party has admitted responsibility you shoud first inform your insurance company for Information Only.
Deal directly with the Third Party Insurance. They will instruct you as to what to do. ie arrange for a garage to inspect, sort you a
hire car.
There is no need for yours or your b/f insurance to be involved at all.
It really is as simple as that. Doing it this way everything can be sorted out in less than a fortnight depending on when
your car can be mended.
Unfortunately some companies do increase premiums even when you have had a no fault.
You boyfriend should aslo tell his ins. company for information only.
As the claim is going through his name driving your car will be on the national data base. If he with holds information he could have his insurance cancelled for non disclosure (which is in all insurance Companies T&Cs) and you/he really don't want to go down that road.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks for your help McKneff. As we are both with the same insurance company they were informed of the accident and we gave them both numbers. I have already contacted my insurance as soon as it happened so it is unfortunately being sorted through them. however they have been fairly helpful so far, I was just unsure of what policy I should have gone through. I think they had problems deciding too!0

Right, you'll know for next time anyway (hopefully not for a long time eh)
I would think it would be you policy really because is the car that the policy covers.
Good luck, hope its soreted soonmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Yes I really hope its sorted quickly! I just rang my insurance company and its apparently not on my details... So i guess it must be on my b/f's. I need to know for when I renew my policy as you have to include this information. All a bit confusing really! I suppose accidents are never straight forward!
I think the most confusing part is if he is only 3rd party to drive my car why I am getting a hire car while it goes in for repairs. I dont want to ask too many questions incase I highlight a mistake on their behalf!0 -

Because the lorry driver's insurance is paying for it

If your b'f was driving your car using his "driving other cars" third party cover, then any damage to your car is not covered by his policy or yours.
But as you have said you are being looked after with a "hire car" it does look as though your insurer may have passed this on to a claim handler who will be dealing with this for you by claiming direct from the third party (lorry driver's) insurer.0
