  • There is enough ground in this case that the citizen's advice bureau would sponsor a free consultation with a labour lawyer. And make sure you prepare your facts (and documents) for a free 45 min session with the layer. Good luck!

whats does a tribunal consist of? what do i need to get the ball rolling and what are the potential outcomes?

Have a good read on here: http://www.justice.gov.uk/guidance/courts-and-tribunals/tribunals/employment/index.htm

It's more complicated than it should be... but it's designed for you to do it yourself and you should be able to get a half hour consultation with an employment lawyer under legal aid.

I did exactly this for my partner when he was dismissed from the pub trade but that was 8 years ago now so I don't want to sound too confident about the current process :o

    Rubbish.

It is a simple, straightforward case that should be settled by an exchange of correspondence (if the employer has any sense) or the lodging of a claim that should produce an immediate settlement. No lawyers required.
