Problem with EDF Gas account?
Options
I switched my electricity and gas from NPower to EDF in August this year. My gas supply started with EDF on 24/08/11 and after being asked to supply a reading I entered this on the website on 28/09/11.
Shortly after that the reading disappeared as did the option to submit a reading. I spoke to EDF and they stated that the reading had been rejected by the national grid and that there were a number of reasons this may have happened, nothing to worry about, they would resubmit it.
Nothing happened. I've spoken to them numerous times since and got nowhere. On 09/11/11 I recieved an email saying that this was a 'known issue' with a number of gas accounts preventing them from submitting meter readings and it is in the process of being resolved.
This is all well and good but I've now been receiving my gas supply from EDF for over 3 months, they have been taking £127 a month for our gas and electric which seems like a lot but I can't really reduce it until they have submitted my reading and produced a bill!
Has anyone else had this issue with them? Or can anybody offer any advice?
Thanks in advance.
Emilie

Exactly the same issue with myself when i changed in august.
I cannot enter a gas reading but can do so with electric.
I pay £80 per month (gas and leky combined).
What their known issue is i don't know but all i can say is keep paying the agreed amount and if there is a big difference when the reading is allowed it will need negotiation then.
I keep a good eye on usage so i know £40 per month for gas is suffice for me over a year.
ps : you can reduce your monthly direct debit if you phone them but do make sure you are covering the bill when it arrives.0
