We need to pick up a couch from our old house. It's an 'L' shaped thing, it comes in 2 parts.

I'm looking at vans but not sure what size we need? Is a Vauxhall Vivaro/Ford Transit 280 the kind of size that would be ok?

It says 'loading volume 6.20 m3' but that means nothing to me in terms of couch size. :o

The next size up is a Ford Transit 350.

  • Google the dimensions of the vans load space and then measure your sofa. The 280 and 350 are the vehicle weights. 280 should be ok if the sofa isn't too long.

Here is one van hirer's website.

It features both the vans you mention, but body styles may vary.

Find the van you are interested in and click on view details to see dimensions of the load area.

That's much more informative than the site I was on, thanks.

Looks like it should be ok. I don't know what the couch measurements are but I do know the one we have here is bigger and the long leg of the 'L' measures 230cm as it is a bed too. Going by the fact the other couch is smaller, it should fit in ok.

    Thank you.

280 transit is approx 240cm long inside the back, so you'll be fine with that. Lo roof swb 280.
