  • I second, third, fourth and fifth everyone else's advice. I use frozen veg regularly, especially french beans and brocolli and cauliflower, mostly because I am lazy with the mealplanning, and always steam it over the pasta, rice or spude if I'm cooking them, It cooks fine, and I too like mine a bit al dente, it doesn't take very long though, probably 4 mins I would think, so watch it carefully the first time so it doesn't overcook.
