How can I superimpose an image onto another & make colours same? Free software?

Options
We are having some fun at our local club and for Our Xmas Calender, me and the other girls want to superimpose our Hubby's heads on the bodies of Reindeers, elfs, Hunks with rippling Muscles etc. so.... Using paint.net, we open up the photo we have taken of our Man. We then select his face (lassoo select). We then copy that face to the clipboard. We then open up another instance of Paint.net with an image of the Reindeer/elf/hunk etc. so, we then paste the copy of our man from the clipboard onto the image (of the hunk). However, the colour of the image and the colour of the skin on our faces are miles apart. Is there a way we can blend these images so they look the same? For instance make the Bronze skin on the hunk look similar to the skin colour on our man by altering the colours in either Image. At the moment, our hunk is Very Bronze & tanned and our man is very pink.!
Any help just for fun??

  • To be honest you are possible best looking for a novelty program designed to do just this.

You certainly can do it with something like GIMP (or GIMPShop) which is free but you'd need to know about using layers and probably masks which may be a touch complex for just having a bit of a laugh.
