I am so angry!!

I recently sold a graphics card on Ebay which was worth nearly a 100 quid. I clearly stated on the auction that paypal payments would be only accepted from fully verified and confirmed accounts.

Guess what?? A guy bought my card and he did have a verified account but he wanted me to post to an unconfirmed address. What little paypal protetcion I have is not even eligible as a result.

I informed of this and I even offered to wait for the address to be confirmed.Instead he whinges at me like it is my fault/problem!!

On top of that he wanted me to post as quickly as possible(I state 5 working days) and to top all off the guy wanted a refund since he thinks its my issue.Just because 6 hours later I had not done this quick enough he started moaning at me again.Anyway I refunded him his money. Now I have to bear Ebay fees of nearly 5 quid!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

I had a similar situation - also with a £100+ graphics card, oddly.

The buyer was cooperative - he insisted his account had a confirmed address, but did still get on the blower to paypal. They actually emailled me to confirm it... this was after several unconfirmed payments. I might add that the payment for 2p came through with a confirmed address, and repeated £130 ones were unconfirmed! GO figure!

Is there no hope of the buyer trying again? Explain to him the address confirmation process - it's the work of minutes.

By the way, I'm pretty sure you have to make the payment again before you know if you're confirmed.... so you have to refund and get another payment. (I could be wrong though)
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

There is an option in the Mutual Agreement process for you to select 'buyer wanted shipping to an unconfirmed address' however it depends on whether you think he will agree to the mutual agreement or not. It wouldnt hurt to try otherwise you will be stuck with your fees.

I agreed with the buyer not to continue with the purchase after refunding his payment.I resold the item a week later on Ebay!!

After e-mailing Ebay I also managed to get a Final Value Fee credit too!
