  • Funnily enough I've got the same problem and I haven't found a solution.

You need to have your Google account appear in the 'calendars' list of the settings in the Calendar, under 'My calendar.'

If you go into your phone settings it's possible to clear the data from the calendar and the calendar storage. After a phone power reset, I go back into the Calendar and my Google account appears for a brief second and then disappears.

I have read on several forums that removing your Google account from the phone works, but to do this to have to reset the whole phone back to factory default.

Someone else suggested using one of the calendars from the Android market. CalenGoo was a suggested calendar, but it's not a free one.

Thanks, but the manual only deals with adding events, etc on the phone, not with syncing to external calendars.

I've got a Galaxy S1 and to access My Calendar you initially open up the calendar then press the bottom left 'key' on the phone which opens up a screen giving options such as Search, Create etc + an option for Settings.

Press Settings and this displays the various calendar options. Press Calendars and, on my phone, it displays My Calendar and gmail info. Press bottom left key and this brings up sync option.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Neil49. Do I have to untick Calender and only leave My Calender? Also how do I know which calender I am adding to?

By default any new events are added to your default google calender.
Think you can set a default calender on the google site and the phone will use that for any new events.

I've got 3 google accounts and 5 different calenders linked on my phone calendar!
    It get's complicated!! >_<

This is where my problem lies, my Google account doesn't appear here.

As I only use the one calendar I can't help you very much on that issue.

What I have found is that each version of the calendar (i.e. the one on my phone and the one accessed via my pc) syncs up very quickly so I guess you could add an entry on your phone and see if it appears on your pc (and vice versa).

The only problem I have is that unless you specify a time for an event you get an audible warning on your phone in the middle of the night! I had loaded up some events as daily for a few days just as a reminder and didn't specify a time and kept getting beeps at 5 to midnight because the default for all day is starting at midnight!

Have you had a look in Settings -> Accounts and Sync-> Google to see if the calendar option is ticked?
