house we loved has just had a offer on it..... i want to cry

Due to our three little kids we have decided to move and fell in love with a 4 bed detached house, would have struggled a little but it was the 'one' however we were in bad posistion because our house wasnt on the market, quickly got it on the market and had no viewers. however i was fairly confident that the house price 415k was alot and thought it would probably be limited to a few buyers.
however we got on well with the vendors from the start and the lady has just phoned to say that someone has made a good offer on the property and will also rent back the house until the summer to them (vendors are moving to australia) so the rent will be cheap and they havent got to go til june....
so end of my rant, our dream home has gone, I'm holding out for a miracle but i doubt it.
oh well back on the house hunting trail...............

it may not feel like it now but something better will come along, and when in a years time you are settled in your new home, you will won't give this house a moments thought. I know its easier said than done, because I would find it heartbreaking too if we lost the house we are buying, but at least you haven't lost any money yet. Carry on the search and good luck with the sale of your house.0

thanks, yep I know your right but still a dissapointment. onwards and upwards.... can't help thinking that house was so perfect for us, i coudl see the whole family in there. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the buyer pull out.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

I dont suppose they would consider an offer from you now with a delay in completion dates until June so that you can hopefully sell yours in the mean time, they get to stay there rent free until they are ready to move then. Get onto your agents mean time and find out why they think there are so few viewings on your house - are they not pushing it or is it priced wrongly? If you keep on their case they are more likely to remember your property when a potential buyer walks in the door asking for advice.
Good luck0 -
thanks, yes first point of call was estate agents, we told him that unless we get the house then we will take ours of the market we only wanted this house so seems no point in going further, i actually think the market is quite slow where we live in essex. just looking on website such as rightmove etc there doesnt seem that many houses for sale and the ones that are have been on there for a good few months, in fact the house we liked had been on since september.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

I've said it before and i'll say it again, everything happens for a reason and if you lose this house there is something much better out there for you,
Good luckHouse purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.
Hang in there everyone it is worth it0 -

Or they're more likely to think "I don't really want to have to ring that PITA again to arrange a viewing"...;)Don't see the point anymore in offering advice to people who only want to be agreed with...0 -

yes I'm great believer in this aswell. just at the moment there seems to be nothing around this area that takes our fancy....Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
I'd say your heading for yet more heartache, attempting to sell each time you find something you like is IMO nearly always destined to fail as you found out. Being on the market or even under offer puts you in a better position to move straight away when you do find somewhere you like, if it takes a while so be it, your purchasers will wait or they won't.
(And having been part of a "I want that one" circus earlier this year, it's a pain in the !!!! when vendors go on the market with the sole aim of purchasing one house, a waste of time and effort for most people involved)0 -

well its not as if i was totally up front about it from the start ( the estate agent knew we only wanted one house and i wanted him to do everything he could to sell ours we even went with him because hes selling the other house thinking that he should look at it that rather than selling two houses he has only got to sell one, ours because we want that house) , to be honest i thought our house would sell very quickly but just how wrong can you be. as I say the vendors are in no hurry to move, the hwole reason they have choosen these buyers is that they will buy the house and rent it back to the vendors at a silly rate so they can stay there until june, so for them as the vendor said yesterday is perfect for them.
strangely enough the estate agent hasn't mentioned the offer being accepted on this house yet, good mind to leave it and see how long it takes them to get in touch with me.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0
