Hi,
We're just buying a property. We currently have Homelet insurance which is specifically for tenants. However Homelet are very good with insuring bikes - they insure them at home and away from home including anywhere abroad. We have two bikes worth approximately £2,000 in total and therefore it's important they're insured. I've noticed that major insurers only insure the bikes at home and not away from the home.
Anyone know of any good insurers that will offer insurance on bikes (with a high value) at home and away from home.
Thanks
Liz

Most will, but it may pay to make sure they are added on as specific items, rather than covered by the general cover for items away from the home. If you ever have to claim, make sure you lock them up!. My son had his bike stolen when he left it outside a shop. Once I stupidly said it was not locked, they would not pay out.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

I use these people

and add them on as specific items.
I think it searches a number of insurers.
I have found it to be competitive for the last few years.
As another poster has said, you still need to lock your bike up to something permanent.0
