If you want to appeal, then appeal, but you will be faced with a bigger penalty if your appeal is not accepted by the council. You then have the choice of asking for the magistrates to hear it. If that was unsuccessful, you'd have a fine, costs and victim surcharge, too.

Other people's opinions won't really help you here. You have the facts, and only you can decide if you want to take a risk.
To add to sarahg's post, court costs are currently averaging between £57 and £83 depending on your court area. Victim Support levy is £15.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

as i say,, i have seen the orignal photo on another site(nothing to do with this/similar sites,, i advised the op to post on here as i believed the info given would be its usual high standard,,,a)the photo taken is clear as a bell,, with tape across it,,b)SEVERAL other cars were ticketed for the same reason,, believing there was no charge, at the same time,,,,what the op is asking,, yes , i know its going to cost more by appealing,,,,but surely if the council were to check,,tickets given in this car park on this day,,they would see something must have been going on for the amount of tickets given????,,is it a waste of time or not in your opinions, i think thats all the op wants to know,,thank you.

Well with that obscured (crossed out) sign I would appeal it I think, but it's a big leap of faith with an ECN due to the extra costs and having to go to a Magistrates' Court.

I think the lack of other opinions is simply the fact that all possible advice has already been given and it can only be him who decides whether to pay or appeal.

If it were a normal Council PCN I would have no hesitiation in saying go to adjudication.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
