Need accommodation for 3 nights!

Hello, I wonder if anyone out there has a place that we (3 adults) can stay near Ottery St Mary in Devon for 3 nights 2,3 & 4th June 2012! We are hoping to fly down from Scotland for my Niece's wedding on 2nd June and not flying back up from Bristol until 5th June but we need accommodation for myself, husband and 17 year old daughter it could be self catering or even just a caravan! Have looked but either these dates are not available or the prices are beyond our reach! If we cannot find accommodation then we cannot go to the wedding which also means we wont get to see the family as we havent been down south for over 4 years due to costs, work and the fact that my husband is in the HM Forces and has been away for long periods of time and so this would mean we could see all the families in one go! If there is anyone who can help or who knows who has accommodation at a reasonable price please let me know! Thanks for reading my plea!

Try a travelodge, only £35 per night.I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Many thanks for the information but as my daughter is 17 we cannot have a family room so even if it is £35 per night that has doubled it! We did try there actually but there are no rooms available for those dates anyway, but thanks for your thoughts0

Everyone should be YHA members[discard outdate YH notions/prejudices if you have them]
This shows you what's available in the South West-

Exeter looks to be closest - apx 12 miles away.

Family accommodation available and reviews seem favourable.
If you have them, convert some Tesco vouchers[also for SYHA]via Clubcard Rewards.
3X face value makes excellent[no cash]sense and YH accommodation allows freedom to self-cater or eat out.

Contact the local Tourist Information Centre. They usually keep lists of availability for local accommodation providers.
Ottery St Mary Tourist Information Centre
10b Broad Street, OTTERY ST MARY, EX11 1BZ

If they are closed (some only open in the summer months) then phone their Post Office or Town Hall for advice on who best could help you.
The problem you'll have is that 4 June is Bank Holiday weekend & Jubilee.0 -
Whist it may not be showing on offer yet...have you considered registering with travelodge and getting their emails...with a view to booking a cheap room after christmas for the period of time you need...
I know you say that because of your daughter being 17 she isnt classed as a child ....but hopefully getting a £9,£15 or £19 per room deal may not bee so bad if you find you have to double up on the rooms...
I think that holiday inn group which includes holiday inn express may be doing a 2 for 1 promotion at the moment so that may also be worthwhile looking into....
you may find that the rates are going to be higher that weekend as its the extra bank holiday for the queens jubilee...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Unfortunately, Ottery is Devon. The nearest Travelodge is probably Tiverton & lawd knows where the nearest Holiday Inn is.
If the OP is flying down I don't think the taxi fares will help keep the cost down.
Good tips, though, for anyone wanting to go somewhere a bit less rural.
Just had another idea. If you have HM Forces ties someone at Lympstone may be able to help you?0 -

From the Travelodge site
How many people can stay in a Travelodge room?
It depends on what room you have booked, but our Family rooms have enough space for 4 people (up to 2 adults and 2 children under 16 or 3 adults sharing).
So it looks like you'll be OK.0 -

For future reference, according to the Travelodge website you can have three adults staying in a single family room, as per my post above.0 -

i can confirm this - we've had 3 30+ year olds without issue - I usually book a family room then say we left the kid at home when there's only two of us - they're often cheaper or the same price as doubles and you get much more roomDon’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0
