Does anyone know where can I transfer a cassette recording onto CD or a into MP3 file

I'm not convinced about using headphone sockets. I have done a comparison using a headphone out from a boombox with using a line out from a cassette deck and the quality from the headphone socket was much poorer than using the line out.
