Scottish Power - response times
                    Hi all,
Just moved to new house and had an issue with previous tenants debt - SP/Resolvecall intending to disconnect. This was my previous thread...
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3627239
All relevant info submitted to SP and Resolvecall, as advised but no contact back yet! Resolvecall refuse to discuss with me as I am not the debtor and Scottish Power seem to be unobtainable!
TBH, I'm getting a bit scared now!
Any ideas on how to hurry things along a bit? Would Consumer Direct be worth contacting? All assistance gratefully accepted!

I work for ResolveCall and maybe able to help you out.
You may be due a visit from an agent any day now who will do a pre-disconnection visit to your address, don't worry, if you are genuinely a new tenant you have nothing to worry about.
It is naturally assumed that until a new tenant can prove they have taken over the tenancy that they could be trying to pull a fast one to avoid the bill and so a visit can quickly ascertain via proof of tenancy (i.e tenancy agreement/council tax bill/mortgage agreement or statement) if there is a new person in the property to deal with the utilities.
I would say that if you want to avoid the visit, get some meter reads along with a copy of tenancy agreement or other proof of your address and send it to Scottish Power direct and ResolveCall using a recorded delivery service as to stop any further action.
Hope this helps and good luck!0
