Narrow under counter freezer?

Hello folks!

Just wondering if anyone has come across a narrow under counter freezer?

We are moving shortly to a new home where an under counter fridge is provided but no freezer and sadly the space next to it is a little narrow, not by much but close enough!

Would love to know anyone's thoughts!

Thanks,
Sera

  • Is this a private rental? And is the fridge that is there integrated behind a coloured door? If not, ask the landlord if you could move their fridge out to garage and pop a combined one in that fits the gap and better meets your needs. They may agree or they may not. The only other thing to do is have a small freezer in another room near a plug and use it there.
  • How narrow is "narrow"? There are still some 500mm and 550mm ones available. I bought one (Lec brand) last year and had quite a few to choose from. Narrower than 500mm, you're sunk. If that's the case it might be worth thinking about losing a base cabinet to fit a 600mm (standard width) freezer instead.

Here is a very narrow freezer, but its a chest freezer, so maybe no help http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/norfrost-c2aew-b-chest-freezer-white-05270812-pdt.html 855 x 356 x 600 mm

Thanks, everyone. It is a private rental and no, it's not integrated (behind a door), so it is an option to pop another in there. We don't have the space for a chest freezer, sadly. We might have to put one in another room - but it's such a drag to have it in a living room. I'm always confused by the design of kitchens that don't have enough food space. Hilarious.

We are total foodies as well as I'm a vegan for health reasons so lots of veg is always around. I suspect we'll have to see either how we get on with just a fridge or do some swaps. Thank you for the tips on measurements - I'll see when we move in!

    Cheers!

If you go to the Which? website and search for freezers they have the option to choose settings, one of them being width, so up to 50cm, up to 55cm, or your own specified dimensions.
  • Thank you, krlyr! The Which? site sounds great.
