Hi, I am new to this so I hope someone can help.
Some years ago I had an account with Amex, which I thought I had paid off as part of a settlement of this nad a number of other debts which were all consolidated.
I have been approached by a debt collecting agency who have secured a court order, however it was initially in the wrong name, when I wrote to them it was corrected by the court. (it appears to have been a misspelling) however the order was corrected after the 6 year time limit expired, and I was unaware of the move to collect the debt prior to the expiry of the 6 years. Although the order was granted in the wrong name.
Any idea where I stand - grateful for any advice
cheers

how far different was it?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
