    The problem is though if you have a higher value car and you manage to write it off, a lot of insurers will only payout 60% of the value of it now. No idea why as the very purpose of insurance is supposed to operate on the basis that you won't suffer a loss but thats how they do it.

    Practical or performance doesn't really matter much these days, as a new driver you'll almost certainly still have accidents you weren't counting on.

    Whatever you do, enjoy but don't go doing silly stuff just enjoy your freedom and remember that behaving means you can continue enjoying it. Also be bloody careful round those stupid speed cameras.. they're trigger happy.
