Best value German (or other good quality) kitchens?

We bought ours from www.pineland.co.uk . They are solid pine, no plastic feet, mdf, chipboard or anything that the majority of the other manufacturers use. We got a large kitchen (5m x 5m) including oak worktops for £8.5k plus £1,000 for painting and £1,050 for fitting. So £10.5k for a truly bespoke kitchen all made to our exact measurements no generic depths of units or door sizes required. Obviously this is only any good if you like the painted or pine look.0

thanks very much for the replies.
Keller kitchens look very good - will check them out.
Pineland also looks good and very good value, but we were looking at something on the modern side rather than traditional.
kmdesigns - thanks very much for the detailed explanation on why german quality is better. I think I'm converted! (well I already was, but it might help with DH)
One of the issues I was having was finding out the brand names for more mid-range german offerings. I'll have more of a dig around first and come back here once I have more of a shortlist.0 -
Hi Justine68
To be honest it's less important what make of mid range German kitchen you buy as they are all very similar in terms of quality and price (as long as you are comparing apples with apples) by far what is more important is where and from whom you get it from. A designer that truly understands your needs, is used to this kind of project, has direct accounts with the appliance brands you want and lots of experience.
Its such an important purchase, a new quality kitchen that trust in your designer and the skills they have are far more important than a perceived cheap price.
Good luck

Tasty spam above...
Oh and have to agree with what CK and km say (as usual)If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Very interesting to hear about Pineland. I saw their web site, and wondered about them. How easy is it to get the kitchen designed/planned, given that Magnet et al provide designers?
Another similar company is Kit Stone. They do solid wood kitchens, from bass wood I think.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
have a look at https://www.diy-kitchens.com. ive used em 5 times now. they are second nature doors with good quality fittings.
Best thing is they come rigid, doors and drawers drilled and fitted so fitted the kitchen is like playing with lego as long as you take your time.0 -
Depends where you live - there are some very good independents - I have had mine from Fourways near wrexham and they did an excellent job.0

Hi, has anyone had experience of the Odina from Homebase(Nobilia) as I am looking at the moment and currently my preferred kitchen I have seen? Thanks0

We had a Haker Kitchen from a local company.
Small details such as kick boards that clip into the sturdy unit legs along with solid construction make all the difference.
The fitter also preferred fitting these to any UK make.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0
