Switching Electricity and Gas Provider
Is it just me or do other people find switching provider more hassle than its worth. I was previously with Scottish Power for both electric and gas paying £56 per month. The meter was read once a year and in general I was on budget. Last year after reading many articles about switching I used u - switch which recommended I could be paying just £44 with eon. So I changed. First bill was received in December (estimated ) then I provided an actual reading in January by which time Scottish Power had provided their final readings. I have now received a letter from eon telling me my payments are going up to £84 !!!. The reason is I switched in winter using a monthly payment which eon average out over the whole year!. By switching in the summer you have the opportunity to build up a bit of credit. So beware if you switch - switch in the spring or summer. I wish I had!!!
