Trampoline on next doors car

+1 for anchoring our trampoline down. It's a large surface area, almost like a sail I suppose.
Imagine, would you not be upset if it was the other way round and something that could have been prevented from blowing in the wind left your neighbours garden and struck your car. Ultimately causing you to claim fault on your insurance pushing your premium up.
I'd feel compelled to pay the damage. But that's just me.
Sorry if this does not help the OP.0 -
thats why we are paying for it, cash. Its not really anyones fault, just one of those thingsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

You were unlucky, but still it's one of those things that wouldn't have happened if the trampoline had been anchored. But your solution seems entirely fair and neighbourly. Who could ask for more. Peace!0 -

I wonder if you'd take that attitude if it hit one of your family with life changing consequences. I suspect not.
Still well done for paying up when you don't have to.0 -
Out of interest, did the trampoline have the safety netting up ?
I took ours off for the winter in the hope it would be less of a sail...0 -
Hi yes it did have the net on, never had one before. Inregards to Lisyloo comment, you wouldnt be out in the wind that we had as it would blow you away, you also wouldnt expect something that takes 5 people to move would blow away.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. How many people would it take to lift a jumbo jet? A lot.
What keeps a Jumbo Jet in the air? Move it fast enough in relation to the surrounding air, and the air acting on the wings generates lift.
Even though your trampo is heavy, it has a big flat area for the moving air (wind) to grab a hold of, and a big space under it for the wind to pass. The weight of it obviously hasn't been enough to counteract this. It would be different if the same weight was concentrated in something the size of a wardrobe, with little surface area, and nothing for the wind to get a hold of with no space between it and the ground.....0 -
Yeah very true, suprised though as it is surrounded by bushes oh well sorted now.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
