Ipod and Tune In Radio or DAB radio

My OH has hinted at a DAB radio to use at his desk at work rather than run the radio off his computer.

I've been looking into this and as he spends a lot of time away from home I thought about an ipod and downloading the app Tune In Radio.

Does anyone have any experience of this app, does it do what it says on the tin, or would I be better off sticking to the DAB radio route?

Thanks for help/suggestions as I'm out of my depth on this one.

For the tune in radio to be used on the ipod he would need to have a wireless internet connection available, which is some thing to bear in mind, but of course it has the added advantage of being able to use lots of other apps too. It is also a rather expensive option.

I got my BF a fairly compact DAB radio which can run on batteries for about £40, and it works very well. It could be easily packed into a suitcase to be taken away on trips. If he only really wants the radio, this might be a better option.
