Crazy SMS Dictionary on my HTC 'smart' phone

I recently bought an HTC Wildfire, I'm pretty pleased with it but the SMS predictive text system is pants! There's nothing wrong with it per se, but the dictionary that the predictive text uses seems to be full of random meaningless words!
For example, if I type 'train' (tuv, pqrs, abc, ghi, mno), the first predictive text option is 'tpagm', if I type 'plinth' the first option is 'skintg'. I never had this problem with my previous phones.
So, is there a way to locate and edit the dictionary that is used for predictive text??
Thanks

If it's like the Desire, you should be able to go do this:
Menu, Settings, Language and Keyboard, Touch Input then User Dictionary.
You can add and remove words there.0 -
What language have you got your phone set to?
My Desire Z provides sensible suggestions!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I should have mentioned this already - The suggestions s/he is talking about are just typos which the keyboard has accepted as custom words.
Probably true, but surely it should need the 'add' button to be selected before these typos are saved? I also found that some of these random words are misspelled searches i've made in google, what's my browser doing saving search terms in my custom dictionary??0 -

Found it, damn there are dozens of random words in there! I wonder if the dictionary can be exported, edited in notepad or similar, and then imported back?0
