Not used this Ipod for a while so hooked up to charge today via a mains charger.
Left for a good couple of hours and IPod showing charged
Unplugged charger but IPod wont come on
Can play music through docking station so hard drive is ok
When I try and connect via USB on PC get the message "please wait very low battery"
Anybody got any solutions or has the battery died ?

One of my old 5G iPods did the same thing after not being used for a long time, and it was that the battery was completely dead. Batteries generally cut off and are unusable before they are genuinely dead, hence why you can charge a 'dead' battery to restore it, but if they're left long enough the charge will completely disappear.. it seems this is the case.
Good news though is that you can buy and change the battery yourself, or you can always send it to someone for them to do it.0
